Aug 4, 2014

The Environmental Protection Agencys (EPA) expected ozone standard, expected to come in December, could be the most expensive regulation in U.S. history, according to a new study by NERA Economic Consulting for the National Association of Manufacturers.

The EPA sets standards for six major pollutants including ground-level ozone, a primary component of smog. Every five years, the EPA is required by law to review and, if appropriate, revise these standards. In 2008, the EPA issued an ozone standard of 75 parts per billion (ppb).

Barney Frank: President Lied to People About Obamacare
Aug 4, 2014

Its one thing for President Obama to win an award for Lie of the Year for promising Americans if you like your [health insurance] plan, you can keep it. It must sting a bit more when a political ally like Barney Frank, the former congressman, flat out says the president just lied to people.

In an interview with Huffington Post, the veteran Massachusetts Democrat said he was appalled at the bad rollout of Obamacare last October.

I dont understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis, Frank said, then added:

But, frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasnt true. And you shouldnt lie to people.

Juan Williams Rebuked for Making Ridiculous Claim About Conservatives
Aug 4, 2014

A discussion on Fox News Sunday about why congressional Republicans want to sue President Obama for abuse of executive power turned heated when commentator Juan Williams told Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham that conservatives across the country have demonized President Obama. Needham defended conservatives as good people worried about a lawless president.

Needham, head of The Heritage Foundations lobbying affiliate, retorted: Youre the one demonizing people. Youre demonizing good people who are concerned about a president who is completely out of control.

Things get “ridiculous,” in Needham’s view, at 3:03 when Williams answers host Chris Wallace’s question aboutwhether Republican opposition to Obama is racial or based on principles and policies.

Hang Your Heads in Shame: Angelina Jolies Dad Calls Fellow Stars Ignorant on Israel
Aug 4, 2014

Jon Voight, the Oscar-winning actor and father of actress Angelina Jolie, says he is heartsick about two fellow Academy Award winners who denounce Israels actions in Gaza as genocide.

I am more than angry, Voight writes in a guest column published inThe Hollywood Reporter. I am heartsick that people like Penelope Cruz and Javiar Bardem could incite anti-Semitism all over the world and are oblivious to the damage they have caused.

Voight penned the column in support of Israels offensive against the terrorist group Hamas in response to an open letter signed by Cruz (“Vicky Cristina Barcelona”), Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”‘), and other prominent figures in the Spanish film industry. That letter demanded the European Union “condemn the bombing by land, sea and air against the Palestinian civilian population in the Gaza Strip.

Voight, 75, who rose to movie stardom in 1969′s “Midnight Cowboy,” emerged in recent years as one of Hollywoods most outspoken conservatives — including on issues involving the Jewish people.

Military Bases to Stop Holding Border-Crossing Children
Aug 5, 2014

As fewer unaccompanied children cross the southern border to enter the United States, officials say they no longer need to house them at military facilities.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Monday that it will suspend operations at three temporary shelters for young illegal immigrants on military bases, beginning with Fort Sill in Oklahoma as early as Friday.

HHS officials said the two remaining facilities Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and Naval Base Ventura County in California should be phased out over a period of two to eight weeks.

The agency opened the shelters in May and June to house an influx of more than 57,000 unaccompanied minors who crossed the Rio Grande Valley since October, most from Central America.

Theyve had major riots, that have not just been anti-Israeli policy, but are blatantly anti-Jewish. Theyre predominantly the immigrant Muslim populations in Germany and France, for instance, but there are significant numbers of German citizens, native German citizens and native French citizens, either from the far right or the far left, who blame Israel and who are turning it into anti-Jewish campaign.

Aug 5, 2014

Parents are increasinglyvoicing concern that publicschools are collecting massive amounts of personal data on students, storing it and distributing it to third parties without their consent.

Dawn Sweeney, a Pennsylvania mother, has two children in public schools and home-schools her younger three. She had planned to enroll them in public schools when they reached seventh grade, as she did with her two oldest. But because of the data collection, shes now reconsidering.

Nobody can say exactly what is being collected, but its a lot, and it concerns me that every time my kids are on the computer, their person is connected to data, Sweeney said. You dont need parent permission for that.
